Megan Latimer, Managing Director and Executive Secretary

Prior to coming on board as JumpStart International's Managing Director and Executive Secretary, Megan Latimer served as a board member for JumpStart International.

Before taking a leadership role in JumpStart, Latimer was a principle driving force at Hands On Atlanta, where she served in various capacities for 7.5 years. Most in her most recent position, Latimer served as the Director of Network Expansion for Points of Light & Hands On Network, a national nonprofit whose core mission is to inspire, equip and mobilize people to take action that changes the world and empowers Americans to build a better world through volunteering. Latimer joined Hands On Network in January 2002 as development and marketing manager before transitioning to membership and outreach in October 2003. Latimer focused on organizational development and program innovation and efficacy for local network organizations around the country and supported the network's 12 affiliates outside the U.S., in communities as diverse as Harare to Amsterdam to Monrovia. In her work at Hands On, she had the opportunity to gain insights on how a U.S.-based organization can add value to operations in a variety of settings worldwide working with small teams to engage the energies and expertise of the field to creatively connect local assets and build capacity in communities for effective citizen-led service.

Prior to joining Hands On Network, Latimer worked in a fund development capacity for a nonprofit organization that serves people with disabilities in Vietnam, and in a business development role for an internet start-up. Megan also served for two years as program manager for an export promotion initiative at the Atlanta Paralympic Organizing Committee. A Georgia native, Latimer has taught English in China, Brazil, and Atlanta. In her spare time she enjoys writing, traveling, and dancing.

Latimer earned a B.S. in International Affairs from Georgia Tech in Atlanta.
